Our policies for every booking are similar for horses and dogs patients, please read them carefully or you could be refused a treatment session.
Session can be moved to another day if the therapist was warned at least 48 hours before the appointment.
Unattended appointments or cancelled appointments within 24 hours before will be fully charged.
Travel charges may be applied if the location is further away from 10 miles from Cambridgeshire. To avoid travel charges, a minimum of 4 horses or dogs within the area is required.
The therapist will provide only management and wellbeing sessions without a veterinarian consent.
The therapist will be able to treat/manage musculoskeletal disorders only with a veterinarian consent.
Neurological cases require a veterinarian consent.
If the horse or dog present a new lameness and has not been seen by a veterinarian before your appointment, the therapist will not be allowed to practice their treatments. However, the session will be fully charged if the lameness was seen at least 48 hours before the appointment and the therapist was not warned by the owner/client. The deposit will be kept if the lameness was seen within the last 24hours and the therapist was not warned by the owner/client before the appointment. The session will be fully refunded if the therapist was warned before the appointment as soon as the owner/client was made aware of new lameness or disorder.
If you require a handler for your horse, please warn the therapist before the appointment to allow time to find a handler. The said handler may require payment separately from the appointment.
Unpaid appointments will be submitted to exponential charges per week (£5/unpaid week after receiving a two weeks’ notice to pay the invoice).
Without a paid deposit, the therapist can decide not to come to the appointment.
For safety reasons, please wear correct professional equipment such as cap steel shoes, gloves, and hat if you are handling someone else's horse. This equipment is also recommended if you are handling your own horses, however, not necessary.
Reactive dogs, categorised as "dangerous" must wear a muzzle during appointments. "Non-dangerous" reactive dogs are not obligated to wear a muzzle but the owner/client will have to make the therapist aware of their dog's reactivity.
Reactive horses considered dangerous to owner, handler, or therapist can be refused in extreme cases. The deposit will be kept; however, the session will not be charged fully. You will be referred to a behaviourist.
